Before became ISOVOLTA SA, the origin company was established in 1948 and was designed to produce power cables and electrical insulation materials made of thermoset plastics in form of sheets, tubes and rods. In 1998 SC ICME SA Bucharest was fully privatised by Bucharest stock market. ISOVOLTA Österreichische Isolierstoffwerke AG became the main shareholder and in March 2002 ICME ELECTROIZOLANTE was renamed to SC ISOVOLTA SA. Changing the legal form from join stock company into a limited liability company starting with September 2021, ISOVOLTA S.R.L is a Romanian-Austrian private company where ISOVOLTA AG Austria is holding 100% of the shares. ISOVOLTA S.R.L became one of the major producers world wide of a wide variation of thermoset plastic insulation material.
